Post Dating Posts

    I know how to schedule a post for a later date. Let’s say that I am going out of town for a few days, and want my blog to keep posting a new post every day while I am gone. I can write all the posts before leaving, but I want my readers to think that I’ve continued posting them as normal. How can I set it up so that the date that displays on the post is the date that the post is posted, not the date that I actually write the post? Right now it seems that all the posts show the date that I wrote the post, not the date that the post actually gets released to the public. Am I doing something wrong?

    @brjinx
    Hello there,
    Here are the instructions > scheduled posts > http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/schedule-a-post/

    Also note:
    Scheduled posts are currently only triggered to publish when the first person visits the blog after the scheduled time. For now, think of it as “schedule after this time.” https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/scheduled-posts-dont-post?replies=6#post-659030

    Thanks for your reply. I have already visited the first link, and know how to do that. I did not know about the need for someone to visit the site for the post to be released.

    However, my question is do the posts actually show the date they release, or the date I wrote them? I can write five posts on one day, with them scheduled to to come on different days, but is there a way to get them to display the date as the date they post, rather than that single date I wrote them all?

    So I want each post to display the date it is released, not the date that I actually wrote the post.

    Each scheduled post will show up on the date you set for publication in the publish module and the date of publication is what will appear in each post URL.
