Post deleted when I pressed 'publish'

I recently wrote a long post/review for my WordPress Blog, Waffle House Wednesday. The minute I pressed ‘publish’, everything I wrote was wiped entirely, and I can’t find a record of it anywhere. Is there any way I can get my work back, or did WordPress delete it for good? I blog via the wordpress.com site.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There are a couple of places to look for a lost post. (You may have done this already, I’m just trying to cover our bases.)

    1. Check the posts>all posts page on your dashboard. If you see the title of the missing post, hover your cursor over the post title and then click the edit link. Everything that was automatically saved should be there.
If when you open the post you are notified of an autosave, check that as well as it may have saved more of the post than the traditional save.

    2. at the top of your list of posts check to see if you have a “trash” folder. If so, you can look to see if the missing post is in there.

If it’s neither of those places, I’m afraid it’s most likely gone.

As a note for next time, many users are finding it’s safer to post from your Dashboard (Posts>Add New) rather than the new post editor (wordpress.com/post) as the new post editor is being upgraded at the moment which is making it a wee bit unstable. If you post from your dashboard you’ll have access to a fully featured blog editor, plus the autosave works, so it’s much less likely that you’ll lose your work.
