Post Disappeared
-
I published a post on August 26th that has since disappeared and I have no idea why. Can someone please help me locate it? Thank you!

Hi there,
We’d need some more details. What is the URL of the site wehre you published the post and what was the title? Have you checked the Drafts tab on My Site>Site>Posts?

4outthedoor.wordpress.com
The post is titled Solo Season.
I’ve searched all over the place and can’t find it.Thank you!

It looks like your user account deleted that post 2 months ago. Is it possible that you deleted it instead of publishing? Seems like an odd mistake I suppose. But I myself have done far stranger things for whatever reason.
In any case, I’m afraid that the post is gone and cannot be recovered. Deleted posts stay in the trash for 30 days, but then are deleted permanently.

That can’t possibly be. I continued to get views and comments on it after that time. It was just published on August 26th. I went into my stats from just a few weeks ago (October 20th) and clicked on it and it says “We don’t have that post on record yet.”

The post that used to be under https://4outthedoor.wordpress.com/2020/08/26/solo-season/ was moved to the Trash by your account on September 6.
It was then purged from the Trash on October 6.

I can’t reveal it here, but I can let you know that it belongs to Google Fiber and is based in Kansas City, Missouri.
If you are not a Google Fiber customer, or you never used a public hotspot or computer in the Kansas City area around that time, I recommend changing your password https://wordpress.com/support/security/#strong-password and setting up two-step authentication: https://wordpress.com/support/security/two-step-authentication/
