post disappeared before I could publish it….not in drafts
-
I just spent 2 hours on a blog and it disappeared…this is the second time this has happened…is there any way to retrieve it???
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This just happened to me too. I saved it all the time, saved one final time after finishing up 3 hrs of work, but when I hit the spell check button, it erased everything. It’s in my drafts but it is still blank!

Have you looked in the post revisions? http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-revisions/

@maryannepappas I see a couple of draft posts and one in the trash. https://maryannepappas.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=post
Is the post you lost one of those?
@jennbrown914, I also see two draft posts for you. Which post are you wanting to restore, and at which restore point?
-
Thanks to all…no it’s not the one in the trash or either of the drafts. I think I’ll write posts on Word and cut/paste from now on…

If the post isn’t any of those posts, then I’m afraid it’s gone.
Did you compose your post from the New Post option in the blue bar on WordPress.com, from a different drop down option, or from the full Dashboard post editor?
For longer posts, it’s a good idea to use the full post editor since you can manually save as you go and the system should capture drafts every couple of minutes.

I found the revisions, but the two were only half of my post. I had saved the draft multiple times after that. I finally just had to redo most of the work. Thank you though

Sorry about that! The most common reason for this is if you’re working on a post and close the window or click away before the new version of the post has been captured, and you haven’t saved it manually.
My best recommendation is to always use the full post editor if you’re writing a longer post, and save it manually every so often. That way you know your draft is saved within the system.
