Post Disappearing

On a very regular basis I will write a blog and when I hit the publish or schedule button the page will refresh and be blank.
To make it worse there is NEVER an auto saved copy of what I just wrote.
I use internet explorer.
It just did it AGAIN moments ago. This is getting very frustating.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I can’t explain why this problem is happening for you. Perhaps it has to do with your use of IE. WordPress works best with Firefox. Also note that older versions of IE are no longer supported by wp.

As a precaution, I always select all and copy before saving a draft or publishing.

You must save your draft at least once in order to activate the auto-save.
If this is a consistent problem then I’d suggest you try using an off-line editor such as LiveWriter to make your posts:

It happens even when I have saved the post during writing.
I use IE7 so it isn’t that it is an old copy.
Since I prefer to use IE changing to a different browser when ever I want to blog doesn’t seem to be useful. If it is happening to me then it must be happening to other people.

I use Macs, so I’m not very familiar with IE browsers, but you are not the only one who has mentioned problems with IE here in these forums.
The select all, copy all answer I provided will at least save what you have written. Note that it’s best if you do it in the html editor so it will save all your code for images and formatting.
LiveWriter is free and works with IE. Perhaps another volunteer has another suggestion more to your liking.

Also, from what I read, IE9 is the latest version of that browser. Some of the earlier versions (perhaps pre IE7) are no longer supported at all.

Sorry, sometimes I can’t type. IE9, my computer is only a year old.
And yes, many times I remember to copy the post before trying to publish but on ocassion I forget and of course that is when it disappears.
What I would really like is for WP to at least investigate what is causing this to happen and to fix it instead of just saying oh well and use a different browser.

You should understand that I am a volunteer, as are many of the others who answer questions in these forums. (You can differentiate who is “staff” because that is written under their usernames.) We are your fellow bloggers and users of WordPress.com who want to help newcomers to use this platform.
You should contact staff directly if your goal is to have the powers that be do an investigation about what is causing the problem.
We can only help you with ways to make your blogging experience useful, and can’t help with underlying issues with the platform.
And perhaps another volunteer will have some more insightful answers for you in a while… We do our best, and no one knows everything.
