post disappears in editing mode
-
Hi everyone,
I’m subscribed to my own blog. I posted today and got an unusual email- instead of saying the name of the new post, it said “Auto Draft” with no information. But when I click on the link, it brings me to the post in question. However I’m not able to edit the post. When I click on the edit button, the editing screen comes up completely blank, as if I had never written anything at all. The post I’m trying to edit is here: http://bilinguish.wordpress.com/2011/02/07/accents/ Any ideas? Thanks! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hmm, try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies and see if that makes a difference. Here’s a handy little guide:

That didn’t work, and the post keeps partially disappearing and popping up again. For a while it didn’t load at all, and then everything loaded except the title. I had a number of views to that page since I published it, but suddenly my Stats page wouldn’t show the name of the page, only (Untitled). Following a direct link sometimes worked and sometimes didn’t. Finally I created a duplicate copy of it in a new post, with the same title and URL and everything. The phantom post showed up in my Zemanta recommended links but other than that there was no problem. I believe that has solved the problem. I haven’t seen the phantom post since, but it might still be out there lurking…
What could have caused this? Could it be a result of not using the proper button to paste text from Microsoft Word?

- You can use this link to see if your flash is up to date.
- If it’s not up to date then this is where to download and install the latest version of flash.

Possibly but I can’t say for sure. What I do know is copying and pasting from WORD results in extraneous and malformed HTML. See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/microsoft-word/#using-word-cleanly
But also be sure you have enabled this > Settings > Writing
__ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically
