post error

  • Unknown's avatar

I issued a post this morning and a few followers reported seeing an error message when they tried to click on the post. This is what one follower had to say “my computer warned me that it didn’t recognise the page and it didn’t have any certificate, advising me not to open it. I did and the page opened but is there a problem?”
How do I make sure this doesn’t happen again.
    Kind regards
    Angela

    Hey there Angela,

The certificate warning isn’t a problem, although I can see how it would create concern. Generally, this happens when a reader is opening a site on public wifi, if the user’s ISP has made any adjustments, or if the reader has certain security settings selected on their browser/computer.

If entering your site doesn’t automatically adjust the security setting on the visitor’s computer, you can send them the following:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/#manage-in-internet-explorer

You’ll see there are instructions on how to make stroudcommunityweb.com a “Trusted Site” for several browsers.

If you have any questions about this, of if your readers have any concerns, please do let me know!

    Thanks so much. Cheers!
