Post Excerpt Block: unable to edit "Add "read more" link text"
-
I am using the 2022 theme.
When editing the site I can see but can not select “Add “read more” link text” in the post excerpt block. I have been doing a lot of work on the site tweaking the templates and layouts, early on I was able to select and edit the link text but no longer. Perhaps there is a setting I changed somewhere that is causing the problem? I do not have any manual excerpts.
I have tried using the block in a new test page with the same result.
I have tried clearing my browser and using different browsers.
I’m out of ideas so any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Rowan

Hi Rowan,
Would you be able to share a link to a post where this happens? A screenshot of what you see on your end would be helpful too. You can use an online tool for that (such as https://snipboard.io/) and paste the link into your reply or add it to your media library.
Remember that you can also reach out to our support team via https://wordpress.com/help/contact directly.

I just got a reply from the support team and they resolved the issue. It turns out everything was working normally but I just couldn’t tell that the cursor was in the text input field. The cursor gets hidden by the blue box that outlines the field when it is selected.
I will mark this as resolved.
Thanks!
