Post excerpt| Menu

  I`m trying to manually write an excerpt however the accept option is only available when I generate an AI except. How do I manually write my own excerpt?

  Im also struggling to create a menu for my different pages (Ive gone through so much content on this Im not even sure if Im using the correct terminology. Basically, I want to post about different topics and have a menu tab on top which will lead my readers to a page which will have the various posts on that topic, right now everything is on the home page), Im not sure if it is the theme Im using or something else. Every time I think I`ve got it, whenever I try an access a page I created I end up on a page not found kind of error. What am doing wrong?

  Thank you @staartmees, I’ve sorted out the excerpt part. I’ll tackle the menu bit tomorrow.
