Post excerpts on Maywood theme?

    My posts page won’t show excerpts, even if I put manual excerpts into each post. Does this theme (Maywood, a child theme of Varia) allow for post excerpts on the posts page?

    I dont see an option in the customize options for the theme either.

    Hi there,

    Maywood does not display excerpts on the posts page, no. The only option to have partial posts appear on the posts page in this theme is to manually add the more-block to the content, at the point where you want a “continue reading” link to appear:

    More Block

    None of our newer block-editor (Varia child-) themes support excerpts as far as I know.

    You can still set manual excerpts for SEO purposes, and that’s what will be shared to services like Facebook and Twitter along with your post URL, but the excerpt won’t display on your site itself.

    Shows my proficiency—I was unaware of the more-block. Thank you. It’s a bummer to have to do this manually but it’ll accomplish what I need. Thank you @kokkieh!
