Post failed to be published on social media

    On Corporate Risks Insights Blog I couldn’t publish the last post on the other linked social media. Every time I ticked the boxes and updated but no result and then the ticks are removed. This is the first time this happened.

    If you were using the New Post button in the reader: this is a known issue and has been reported to staff. For new posts I suggest using the old editor in the dashboard, under Posts ->Add New (http://corporateinsights.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php)

    For an already published post, you can go to Posts ->All Posts. Edit the post from that page. Set the post to draft, update, and the re-publish after making sure your puplicize boxes are all checked. Or simply share that post by hand.

    Hi and thanks for taking the time to assist.

    I tried following your instructions, but still the moment I click on update (after I click on all the publicize boxes) nothing happens and all the ticks are removed.

    This is the first time this is happening. If you have further input, I am all ears.

    Please try clearing your browser cache and cookies and check if you have the same problem in a different browser. If that also doesn’t help, let me know and I’ll tag this for staff to take further. http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/

    Thanks again. Tried it using Chrome & Safari on both Mac and PC and still didn’t work. Appreciate tagging it.

    Hi Marco,

    Once a post has been published, Publicize will not re-push it to social media in fear that it has already been posted to those sites (to prevent doubling up such posts). Even in cases where Publicize has failed to work properly, setting a post to draft and then republishing it will not make it go out to social media.

    In this case you will need to manually share your posts with any social media sources which you wanted it to go out to. In the short term, you can use the post editor in your Dashboard (All posts >> Add New) to create your post, which should work with Publicize, and we should have our new editor working very soon!
