Post filter in free plan

I am a absolute newbie to web development. I am creating a website which collects various videos (each in one post). So when number of posts increases, a page which shows all post thumbnails with filter (by name, topics, dates, etc.), not search bar is very essential.

I did a research and seems like there is no way to do so (at least in free plan). I assume I can do the filter for paid plan, can’t I? All I found are related to wordpress.org which I don’t want to try (as I’m a noob).

So I just want a confirm: Can I make a page with filter for numerous posts in free plan? How could I do so?

Notes: I tried portfolio and it seems the best option to me. I can create various pages with various topics and use portfolio shortcode to filter them. However, users cannot control the filter, they have to choose from the menus I created. In the future, I still prefer posts. Transferring data from portfolios to posts seems not easy.

    Thank you all,
