Hi there,
I just took a look at your most recent draft and I found that it is left justified in the editor itself. Can you edit it the way you want from the Text Editor and then try previewing the post?
-
I’ve tried that and it still reverts. I’ve spaced it all out, so I don’t know why it’s not saving like that…
-
Can you take a screenshot of how you want it to look before it reverts and add it to your Media > Library page?
I’ll take a look and see what I can do!

I figured it out. Had to play with it for a redonculous key long time to get it formatted correctly…using the indent instead of space bar, double and triple returns for an extra space between proses…it was rediculous. This wasn’t the first time I’ve had difficulty with formatting posts, even when I cut and paste from word or write directly in WordPress…not as easy/user friendly as I’d like. But at least it finally worked :) thank you for trying to help!

Of course, now that it’s formatted correctly in the site, it’s a mess on mobile….sigh…any suggestions?

Please try to create your post within the editor itself. The code generated by pasting content from Microsoft Word (and other word processing editors) can cause conflicts with the code at WordPress.com. We strongly encourage our users to use the WordPress.com post editor to create content and formatting on-the-fly. If you’d really like to do offline blog post creation, you might try software, e.g., Windows Live Writer.
If your document has heavy formatting and doesn’t cleanly paste, you can try pasting it in as Plain Text using the ‘Paste as text’ button in the WordPress.com post editor.
You can read more about best practices for adding content created in a word processing program here:
Please try recreating your post within the editor and let me know if that makes a difference.

Right, I did that. I typed it in first and tried to format it. When it didn’t work, I copied and pasted from word…which also didn’t work. It took A few hours and I believe 21 revisions just to get the format to stick. The viewing area where you type is extremely different from the actual blog view and it’s very frustrating. This isn’t the first time I’ve had formatting issues, but it was by far the hardest. And, as I mentioned above, the mobile version is a mess. Half of it isn’t on the screen…do you have any suggestions for that? Thanks again. I know a lot of what I’m dealing with is just getting used to the site and learning the ropes, but it can be really frustrating.
On another note, I have a few badges & widgets thAt I’d like to edit. My Pinterest link/badge is going to the wrong account/site and I don’t know how to update it. I’d also like to add the Instagram badge to the top of my widget bar, so it sits along side Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. Can you help with that?
Thanks!

Hi there,
Because of the different display sizes it’s very difficult to maintain that spacing that you want in that post. One way to maintain the spacing would be to take a screenshot of the poem with the correct spacing and embed that image to your post instead as seen here:
My Pinterest link/badge is going to the wrong account/site and I don’t know how to update it.
If you go to Appearance > Customize > Theme Options you can update the link to your Pinterest account. The Instagram link is not added into the theme, but you can create your own Instagram social icon link with this guide:

Thank you! So how do you embed the screen shot into the post?
I’ll work on the Pinterest badge tonight, but I feel like I’ve tried that already…but I’ll give it another go. Thanks again for all your help!
-
If you download that image and then upload it to your Media Library, you can add that image into your post.
Cheers!

Thank you!!!!! It worked!!!! SO relieved!!!!!
Last question…maybe…. How did you get a screen shot of the whole poem?
