Post format changes when it gets e-mailed
-
The post looks fine on my website when when it comes up in e-mail to followers it changes format–some lines are single spaced as opposed to double or cut off in mid sentence.
Also how do I get the e-mail to show only the first part of the post and have it link back to the website for the complete post?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there! To show only truncated post text within your notification emails, click Settings → Reading in your Dashboard. In the area labeled, “For each article in a feed, show,” click Summary, and save your changes.
If you still have aesthetic problems with your email notifications once you make your changes, please send me a screenshot of anything that looks “off.”
If possible, send me a screenshot, so I can better understand the issue. You can simply upload the screenshot to your Media Library, like any other image, and I’ll be able to access it from there.
The page at the following link has some helpful tips for taking screenshots:
Did you email notifications ever appear as you expected, or has this always happened?
Do your notification emails only look strange to you, or have your followers also received skewed notes?
Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks very much.

Thanks for the info on the how to do the truncated post. I have uploaded the two screenshots to the media library at lkunion.com.. The problem is the sections where it is single spaced as opposed to double and the sentence where it has only one word on the line. I have only posted a couple of times and don’t remember having the trouble before. I have two different e-mails it was sent to and they are consistent.

Hello there. Did you happen to paste the text from Microsoft Word? It appears to be the case. Take a look at the way our editor now works with Word. There have been very recent adjustments:
I don’t want to jump the gun and call this a MS Word issue, if it’s not, and load you down with info. Please let me know if this is the case, or not, and we can move forward from there! Thanks much.

I use Pages on a Mac, not Word. But as I recall it was not a copy-paste job. I can’t swear to it, but I think I wrote it directly on the post page. In any event it looked fine on the post and preview page before I published it.

Pasting from Pages would present the same issue as Word.
The next time you post, make certain you type directly into the Post editor without copying & pasting, and let me know if you experience the same problem.
If the odd-looking emails were derived from posts with pasted text, it’s not unusual that they wouldn’t appear in the same manner as your posts. Our first step is to confirm that this is not an issue of the way the post was created. If your next email notification looks good, terrific! If not…we’ll dig deeper until we settle your issue.
I have just added myself as a Follower of you site, so I’ll receive that email as well.
Please drop me a note when the next post is published and we can put our heads together. Many thanks!
