Post format selection not appearing

  I am using the Twenty Fifteen theme on my blog, which supports post formats. On both WordPress.com and from the WP Admin panel, whenever I attempt to add a post, I go to the normal editor (Title, Content, Settings, etc.) instead of being presented with which format post I would like to add and the modified editor to go with it. What am I doing wrong?

  You might have to enable the Format module to be displayed in the Screen Options drop-down menu at the top of the post editor.

  Just to be sure we’re talking about the same thing: Is the “normal editor (Title, Content, Settings, etc.)” a post editor?

  I’ve enabled the Format module but I’m having trouble getting image and video formats to work. There’s no difference between the formats in the Post Editor.

  And yeah, that’s what it’s called… sorry ^^

  For years I’ve put text, images, and videos in the default post format. You don’t need to use a video post format or an image post format to insert videos or images, respectively, in your posts.

  There’s no difference between the formats in the Post Editor.

  I’ve found that to be the case too, in some of the few tests I’ve done with such formats. However, the Post Formats support page says,

  The appearance of post formats varies based on which theme you are using.

  and, after demonstrating how different themes display a post containing an image with an Image Post format assigned, it says:

  As you can see, there’s quite a bit of variety in the way themes employ post formats.

  There may be subtle differences between the formats you’ve mentioned and the standard post format in the case of Twenty Fifteen. The example posts in various formats shown on the front page of the Twenty Fifteen demo suggests that the title font might be much larger by default with the standard format applied than with the video, image, and gallery formats, for example.
