Post formats and The Columnist theme

    Hello, I am baffled by the behaviour of The Columnist theme in relation to the post formats.

    As I look into a post, I can see that there is no option to format it (there is no Format module to check into the Screen Options menu).

    So I assume that I am using a theme that does not use post formats (which would be fine) and yet, some of my recent posts have the “gallery format” icon next to them. This had never happened to me before.

    When I create a new post, without choosing any options, I randomly get either a “standard format” or a “gallery format”.
    If I open the posts with the “gallery format” icon and try to change it, I find myself unable to do it because the theme lacks the Format module.

    Why does this happen? Is there any way to solve this without having to delete and redo the posts?

    Did you switch to using The Columnist from a theme that had post formats?
