Post formats in the posting interface
-
Hi,
I’m new to post formats and I want to use them with an existing blog. I’ve changed to a theme that supports it (Writr). I’m trying to do something more like a tumblelog, and was hoping by switching to using post formats, I would have more of a Tumblr-like experience.
When I choose the post format, though, the posting interface stays exactly the same. I know with the old posting interface there used to be different posting interfaces for different post formats. Is that no longer the case? If it is the case, how can I access them, please?
If it’s no longer the case, can we please get them?!? They really do make it easier. I’m never sure exactly what to fill in with the larger posting interface for tumblelog-type posts.

Thank you–but the second link is for the old posting interface. I can’t seem to access the actual posting window for the different types from the new interface.
I click the button for the different post types, but the posting window doesn’t change.

I never use the new editor. I use only the classic editor and have no issues with creating post formats. Would you like to try using it?
To use the classic editor go to > Dashboard > Posts > Add New
http://habitofjournaling.wodpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.phpYou can also use the classic editor to edit your posts. See the explanation that jeremeylduvall (Staff) provides for how to do that here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/using-old-editor?replies=8#post-2333912

It doesn’t change there, either. Maybe what I want doesn’t exist. I guess I want it more like Tumblr–you choose the type of post and then the posting interface pops up that is right for that format. I will figure it out. Thanks for your help.
