Post heading on home page
-
Hi
I am just about ready to do my first post, I have read on here somewhere about putting your post heading on the main page. How do I do it so I can just have the heading on my home page, an example my first post will be titled It Pays To Be Pradantic I want people to be able to click on it then be taken to the post. I can’t seem to find it again.
By the way, I really appreciate all the help I receive on here.Wayno
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you just want the title on the main page, use the More tag and put it right up front. I’ll warn you that without an interesting paragraph of intro first, virtually nobody will click through. You need to entice people. Every click you make your readers perform costs you about 80% of your readers; people just won’t do it.

So what your saying is to just put the entire post on the home pageand just keep putting post on there and let people scroll down until they find an interesting one.

Just checked your site out raincoaster. I see you put all your posts on the front page and people just scroll down and read. So why is it best to have a home page and then a second page, what goes on the second page as in my case Latest News/Information ? stil trying to figure this out mate

Yes, put the entire post on the front page.
You’re about to make a HUGE mistake: assuming that static pages are part of your blog. They aren’t. Extra pages sit entirely outside the blog structure, and new posts do not go there. They are for things like bios etc that don’t change. See how I’ve used them here:
What you want is to use Categories or Tags on your posts, and the appropriate widget in your sidebar. Then when someone wants to read all your posts about Dithyrambs or whatever, they just click on Dithyrambs in your sidebar and get just those posts.

it’s extremely common in the past few months. Dunno why. I’ve seen people have to rebuild their whole blogs.
