Post is scheduling when I use Publish now

Hi! I have written a post and whenever I click publish it doesn’t publish and schedules itself even tho I selected publish now. So still, I waited for a couple of minutes to publish (the schedule time was the same time when I got publish) but nothing happens. How do I directly publish? I don’t want to schedule the post.

Hi Jennifer! This is my site -> mrc2rules.tk (mrc2rules.wordpress.com). What happens is the post actually publishes abt after 10/15 mins or so. But I want it to Publish immediately but it somehow schedules itself. This is annoying. Is this a bug?

Hello again, I haven’t run into any other reports of this issue here in the forums. Can you let us know which Editor interface you are using (classic in WP Admin or the block editor).
If you are editing in the block editor, click on the Post tab in the sidebar > Publish > and do you see the “Reset” link in the bottom left corner?

Hi @mrc2rules when you say “schedule itself” do you mean to say the post appears here after you publish: https://wordpress.com/posts/scheduled/mrc2rules.wordpress.com
Or is it more accurate to say that after you publish your post, it takes some time to appear on your “blog” page here? https://mrc2rules.wordpress.com/home/blog/

I used the Android Mobile Application app and the Block Editor. It’s not Android app specific. It just happens whenever I post. It schedules it self and post it self after 20m. I hit ” Publish now” button but it schedules itself again. I will share a recording of this happening if you want.Jerry:
Yes it goes to here. Here’s what happens, it schedules and it posts it self after 20m. For example time of hitting “Publish” is 2 Nov, 10:20am . It schedules at publish on 2Nov 10:20am even tho I hit Publish now. -

And for the browser one, it happens as far as I know on the mobile web version. Can’t remember about the desktop web version. By the way how do I tag people like @john or quote them

Thanks, I’ve watched the video, but I was trying to determine if this is something related to the mobile device or something specific to your site.
It would be really helpful if you could try this from a browser and let us know if anything changes. -

Is this what you mean? You can use the buttons on top of the text box:
You’ll click this before and after the quoted text.
To tag someone just add @ and their username: @mrc2rules. -

We have both seen the video, and I was curious if you had time to check on the thing that staff-mckluskey mentioned: Instead of on your Android device, can you try to publish a test post on your computer (in a standard browser) and if so do you have the same issue?
Or is this a problem only when using your Android device? Thanks for the additional info!

Creating post with APP and publishing via WEB.
My conclusion is this is a bug from the app. This happens on all of my Android devices. It happened for quite a while (since I started using WordPress App). I think desktop and browser works fine.

Hi there,
Note that tagging someone does not send them a notification in this forum. And the way our team works the first person so see your reply is the one to respond, so you won’t be helped by the same person for the entire thread. In other words, there’s no need to @mention everyone who have been involved in this thread every time you reply – any new reply automatically appears in our queue and whoever gets to it first will reply to you.
That said, I use the app on Android on a daily basis, and have never encountered this issue – my posts always publish immediately from the app, and it works as expected from the mobile web as well. So this is something specific to your site or your device. The fact that it doesn’t happen for you on desktop means your device is the more likely cause.
Please check if your phone’s time zone settings are set to the same time zone as your site at Manage ->Settings. Also check that the actual time showing on your device is the same as what shows on your computer.

It happened on ALL of my devices so I am sure it’s not device specific. Is it the site? Can you check the new video -if you haven’t- (mrc2rules.wordpress.com). Or am I dumb and left a setting on, that schedules automatically?And for the pinging, I sometimes do not get emails and notif too as in this case when you commented. I came manually. So maybe I thought pinging could notify you like as in Discord/WhatsApp or other systems do.

Have you tried to re-install the app to see if anything changes? -
It seems that we had a similar report and in that case, making sure the app and the devide uses the same time zone resolved this.
Have you already checked if your phone’s time zone settings are set to the same time zone as your site at Manage ->Settings?

Yes staff-mckluskey I did. I downloaded this app right before I created this post on my “Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime” hoping that the problem on my othr device would go away. My devices run Android 8 and another, 9. My version is, 16.0
As for the timezone, my phone is set to GMT+03:00 Arabian Standard Time, while my website is set to Riyadh, which is the same.
Soo, what can I do for you now?
