Post is vanishing
-
i tried to post multiple times, but the post is still not getting posted. Once I publish, it shows me the post with the earlier posts. But when I move away, the post just vanishes – not visible even in the drafts ( I saved it to drafts) This only happens on this blog of mine and not on other blogs
http://consumerresources.in/2014/04/12/housing-society-matters-volume-ii-issue-no-10-5/
This shows that I tried 5 times and if I paste this link directly in the browser, it shows, but if I go to the blog, it is nowhere to be found. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
I went to the link you provided, and saw your post dated April 12, 2014.
Then I went to your main blog page and scrolled down and saw the same post:
https://cloudup.com/chx7Y2oEOvOI also see the post when I visit your Dashboard and click Post → All Posts. I can scroll to April 12, 2014 and see your multiple versions of the Post.
Are you hoping to see your Post at the TOP of your blog page? If so, because posts display in reverse chronological order, and your post is dated April 2014, it won’t appear at the top.
You can remedy this by making it a sticky post:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/If you make your post sticky, it will be “stuck” to the top of your blog page until you manually remove it’s sticky status.
However, if you don’t wish you post to permanent stick to the top of the page, you can change the post date, so it will appear at the top until you publish something afterward. Find those details here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/schedule-a-post/#republishing-a-post
I hope you find this helpful. If I can assist further, let me know. Cheers.

I got it now, and found the post. I do not understand however, how the post went there. I published it in the normal course.
Anyways thanks for your help :)
-
Well, I am happy that you have the post now. Please do let us know if this happens again. Thanks very much!
-
Thanks for your help. Will keep a watch on why the date changes automatically in a particular blog of mine :)
-
You’re very welcome. Please let us know if we can help with anything else in the future!

Oops, once again, when I publish a new post in this blog, it takes the April Date instead of July, even if I try to publish immediately. You can try out a test post. I don’t understand why it is happening. The earlier posts were all getting reverted to April.
What could be the reason please ?
-
Hi again! When I visit http://consumerresources.in/ , I see a post dated July 16, 2014. Was this the post you’re having trouble with? If not, could you send me a link to the problematic post? Thanks so much!
-
I suggest you try out a new post and “publish immediately”. The date it takes is automatically April, rather than today’s date. I had to manually change the earlier posts.
-
Hi there. I did so, and it ended up first on your blog page. It also has the correct date. Please take a look. You can delete that post, whenever you’d like!
Could you please make sure that the date is set correctly on your computer? Let me know.
Thanks!
-
The date is correct on my computer. Besides, everything works fine on my other blogs – it is just this blog that creates a problem. Maybe should I clear my cache ?
-
I think that’s a very good idea.
If you’ve not done that yet, here’s some info to step you through the process:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cacheI’d also be interested to see if the same error occurs when you try to post with a different browsers.
Thank you very much. I look forward to hearing back from you!
-
I am sorry, but it still recurs. I keep a watch on the date when I compose my post. The minute I hit post, the date reverts back to April.
I cleared the browser cache also. But it still happens. And it happens only for this blog. My other blogs are working fine from the same browser.
-
Hi again. It’s strange that I didn’t have that issue when I published a test-post on your site.
Could you please give me links to the two sites that work properly for you? I would like to compare their settings to the problematic blog.
Many thanks!
-
I tried another browser and all was smooth. I guess it is something in my Chrome Browser, which, because it is synchronized across all my devices, was giving the same erroneous result. I will avoid it for a while and try again maybe after one month. Hopefully, it should be cleared.
Thanks for your concern and all your help !
-
Very interesting! I appreciate the followup, and am so glad you found a solution.
Perhaps reverting Chrome to its default settings could be a help:
