Post layout is impossibe!

I find WordPress to be the most frustrating of all the blogging sites I have used!

I don’t know if I am missing something here, but every time I try to move text further down or pictures it doesn’t translate to what the actual post will look like. This is extremely frustrating and I am losing patience with WordPress. Not only is the posting layout much too small to use, it is not the easiest site to navigate and I find they don’t make things as clear as they could be, Also, html seems to have no effect whatsoever on my posts. Not user friendly. However, I shall persist and hopefully I can get some kind of support as I can’t see any way to contact WordPress directly or get any information about how things are done! Disappointed.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

By looking at your source code, I believe you are not writing your posts directly into the post editor and as a result you have posts in grey, black, centered, left aligned, odd line breaks, and so on.

Writing online is very different from using a wordprocessor! I would suggest that you try using an off-line editor designed to work for blogs. Lots of people use Windows LiveWriter. It is free and works in a way that is like Word but it won’t add junk code.

Hi and welcome to WordPress.com! You may have noticed that at the very top of these forums, there is a note encouraging users to use the Support site and also search the forums.

Need help? Check out our Support site, then (searchbox)

Looking in the Support docs I found the following
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/introduction/#how-do-i-write-something-on-my-blog
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-screen/

And although I couldn’t find it easily, you can also change the size of the Post Editor box by going to Dashboard>Settings>Writing>Size of Post Box. Default is 10, but you can make it bigger by either increasing the number here, or in the Visual Editor only, by dragging the lower right-hand corner of the post box down. You can also go to “full-screen” mode by clicking on the button in the Editor toolbar

Hope that will help to get you started. :)

Thanks for the advice. I hadn’t considered an online writing program as there was an option to paste from word but that didn’t change anything! I’ll try out Live writer and hopefully sort out these issues.

I found that full screen mode makes things more difficult as my template only allows a certain post width so its a bit difficult to know where exactly my pictures and text are going to be.

Thanks for your help – it is greatly appreciated!
