Post missing from dashboard, but still in Google search
-
Hello,
There is a post on my blog which I clearly remember publishing, even Google has indexed it and coming up in search engine, but its missing from wordpress.
The post was published on 30 Aug 2014, the first few sentences started as “As much as I love power dressing at work, there is a hippie-gypsy hidden somewhere in me waking “….if you type following keywords in Google, it shows up as well
hippie gypsy onetimefashionistaBut when you click the link, it says that its not there.
What may have gone wrong?
The site in question is onetimefashionista.comThanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

IMPORTANT NOTE: Deleting blogs and/or their content does not remove it from the SERPs (search engine page results). Google and Bing only clear their caches of deleted indexed content that produces a 404 (page not found) every 3 – 6 months. To completely remove an entire page from Google search results after it produces a 404 (page not found) error message see here https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/1663419?hl=en

Hi @Timethief, thanks for your response. Sorry I was not clear enough in my query. I didn’t delete the post myself. I was looking for it the other day only to realise thats its not there in my dashboard. When I searched, it showed up on Google. So my question was, how did it get removed from my list of posts in the first place? Thanks.

What is the title?
What is the URL?

Hi,
The URL of the post in question is searchable only with its tag which is missing:
onetimefashionista.com/tag/gypsy/Including me, there are only two admin users, me and my wife that is. The post was published on 30 Aug 2014 and the first few lines (as per Google) are as following:
30 Aug 2014 – As much as I love power dressing at work, there is a hippie-gypsy hidden somewhere in me waking…..

The URL you provided is not for a post, but for a tag. The tag, gypsy, exists for your site, but is not associated with any posts:
Also, I don’t see any posts on 08/30/2014:
Do you know the title of the post in question?
Once you give me some additional clarification, I will be more than happy to continue addressing your issue.

Hi,
The title of the post was Hippie-Gypsy in Dubrovnik Old Town. If you search these keywords in Google, it still shows up. This post was even promoted on Twitter on 30 Aug 2014. You can see the link on Twitter here:

I don’t see a direct link to the post in Google’s index. It appears that this post was deleted about one month ago.

Hi @shehzaadshams,
It looks like the post was actually sent to the trash two months ago and then automatically deleted from the trash after 30 days (automatic process). I’m afraid I don’t have a specific date for you though. A post cannot be restored once it’s completely deleted.

Hi @jeremeylduvall,
Is it possible to track who the author was who may have accidentally trashed the post? Since its only two of us admin of the site, we can find out easily.
Is it also possible to find out if any other posts were accidentally or intentionally deleted or not? I mean I know that the post cannot be retrieved but their titles? Many thanks !!

Hi @shehzaadshams,
We’re not able to provide details of which user deleted your post. If you’re not sure, I recommend talking to the other users on your site. As the site owner it’s important to only add other people who you trust.
