Post not on main page, only in sidebar?

    Hello,

    This is my brand new URL, but it does not seem to be working correctly

    I am having a problem with my blog. The only posts I published isn’t showing up as the main page, only on the sidebar, but I need it as a front page.

    I go to ‘Manage posts’, but no posts found.

    I uploaded a widget called ‘links’, as it sounded like a logical choice to link something, but nothing happened. On dashboard it says: ‘You are using the Kubrick theme with 1 widget’. Haven’t a clue what that means.

    Any easy suggestions, please, as I’ve spent all day on theis wretched thing. Not much fun, so far.

    P.S, I meant to say thae above prob arises when I ‘Visit Site,.
    This is what I get:

    Not Found

    I think your post is not a post but a page, and there is no link to it from your front page, that indeed says “there is nothing herebla bla”.
    First of all, make a post – anything at all will do, a few lines, whatever, just to test (dashboard -> write -> post).
    When you have done that, come back here, and we’ll figure it out.

    Don’t worry about the widgets just yet – the widget is all those things people have in the sidebar – calendar, blogroll, archives etc. You have a blogroll widget, and the default content is the link to wordpress.

    The Kubrick theme is the design of your blog, you can change this by going to design and preview and choose another layout/theme. You will not loose any info changing theme.

    Ah. That is because you don’t have any posts. Post a few lines, anything, and test.
    dashboard – > write -> post, and choose publish

    Thank you for your help. Followed your instructions, but now it has nothing in the sidebar except ‘Blogroll WordPress.com’ — peculiar?

    I did a test and posted it.
    On visit site it shows:
    Great Vegetarian Recipes
    Just another WordPress.com weblog

    vegetarian test post

    Hello Boblets,

    Thank you so much. Your comment that I had a ‘page, but not a post’, eventually exercised my little grey cells, as Poirot would say.

    So, I cut and pasted the page, over to the post and then deleted the page.

    It worked! Thank you for your kind help.

    That would have been my next suggestion :-)
    We like Poirot! Not a problem, happy to help.

    So now the blogroll-thingy-widget in your sidebar: you can delete it (a blogroll is where you put your favourite blogs), alter it, add blogs to it etc.
    Other widgets you add will be in your sidebar too.

    An “about”-page might be good too..?
