Post Not Populating – Would like to Clear my Cache
-
Hi There!
I am trying to make a new post for my site and my newest post is not populating on the front-end. I have also tried to make a copy of the post and publish it, but none of my content in the draft is being published to the site for some reason.
I have a free plan with WordPress, is there a way to clear my cache to troubleshoot even if my plan is super basic?
Thanks so much!

Hi there,
What is the URL of the post you are trying to publish?
Starry Night? When you attempt to click publish, what happens? Do you receive a message or even a white screen? You’re right in that this issue sounds like a potential cache issue. Have you tried logging in using a different browser or clearing your browser’s cache?

Hi darnelldibbles
Yes its for the Starry Night post.
The url is: https://creativecontentbyalid.wordpress.com/?p=531All of the content I want to publish is put in place on the back end but when I hit publish, all that shows up is the header image and a banner at the bottom to navigate to another post. Nothing in the body area where my actual post content is supposed to be.
Last night, I tried clearing my browser’s cache (using Google Chrome) but that hasn’t worked. I also just tried testing the post out in Modzilla Firefox this morning and the same thing happens.
Can I clear my WordPress cache to troubleshoot?
Thanks so much.

Thanks for the extra details. I don’t think it’s a caching issue here. It looks like it’s still in the
draftstatus, not published – which is why you can’t see the post on the front end.Can you go to that post draft and try to publish it again?
If you still have trouble, we can try to publish that post for you. Let us know how it goes!

Hi csconnek
I left this post as a draft because it wasn’t publishing with any of my content. Therefore, I didn’t want this visible on the site.
I just tried again to publish the content and it is still not visible on the front end.
Could your team please try publishing this for me and see what happens? If it is still not visible I would like to request to clear my cache to troubleshoot this problem. I’m worried I will continue to have this problem with other posts I try to create.
Thanks so much.

Hello there,
I was able to publish the post and the content is present. Can you confirm you’re seeing the same thing please? https://creativecontentbyalid.wordpress.com/2021/08/19/starry-night-promotional-ad/
I took a look at the post revisions and I could see that content was removed, and the added back. I suspect you may have been looking at a previous version.
Many thanks.

Hi aleone89,
I guess I’m still looking at a previous version because sadly, I am still unable to see the content once published.
Please note, since this content is still invisible to me, I switched the post back to draft.
I tried clearing my browser cache and really do not know how else to troubleshoot this issue.
Do you have any other troubleshoot suggestions so I can see this on my end? -
-
Hi fstat,
That is exactly what I’d love to see on my end!
Is there a way that I can provide a screenshot so I can show you what I’m seeing from my computer?
Thanks so much.

Hi there,
Sure! You can upload a screenshot to your media library at https://wordpress.com/media and we can take a look at it. Alternatively, you can upload to https://snipboard.io and share the link with us here.

Hi aisajib,
Okay, I’ve uploaded what I’ve seen on the back-end and front-end. The screenshots are the two most recent images in my media library labeled “seen on back-end” and “seen on front-end”. I just checked the post again to be sure and it’s still the same.
This weirdly may be an isolated issue with posts because I just made a new page and had no problem viewing that content on the front-end.
Let me know what you guys think.
Thank you!

Thanks for the screenshot! They are helpful. Can you do a few more tests?
* Try visiting the post (frontend) from a different browser.
* If you’re using Chrome, try disabling all extensions. If this fixes that, re-enable the extensions one by one to see which one causes the issue.Let us know how the test goes. :)
