post not publishing to facebook

  Hello. I recently published a draft post. I have my publicize settings fixed to auto post to facebook, which usually works without a glitch. On this occassion it didn’t (i assumed because I’d published an old draft?) upon investigation I noticed it had become disconnected from facebook, so I reset it. Now in Publicize I can see I am once again connected to facebook and my post is showing as ‘posted’, but it is nowhere to be seen on my facebook wall. Have you come across this before? Thanks for your time, Jess.

  Hi Jess!

  It looks like your blog is indeed connected to Facebook correctly. Just to be sure I understand correctly, you published the post to your site. Then, you reconnected Facebook and updated the post. Is that correct? If so, that will not cause the post to be sent to Facebook. Posts will only be sent to Facebook is the connection is setup before the post is originally published. Does that make sense? Your future posts should work correctly.

  Can you let me know if I’ve misunderstood your description?

  Hi Jeremy – ah OK, that explains it. Yes the post was published before the connection to Facebook was fixed. I particularly wanted to publish my last blog post though, is there no way to publish it?

  Hi Jess,

  Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to trigger that post to publish to Facebook other than copying and pasting the content into a new post on your blog. Alternatively, you would need to manually share it on Facebook. Future posts should be shared automatically though!
