Post not read by Firefox

  Hi

  My blog has been running relatively since Nov 10. But today, I suddenly received a comment from a reader saying that this post (http://winkypedia.net/2011/01/12/best-traditional-chinese-mochi-sticky-rice-dumpling-%e7%b3%af%e7%b1%b3%e7%b3%8d/) cannot be read via Firefox. I use IE so I could not test. Is anyone using Firefox and has the same problem?

  I suppose the difference between this post and the other ones mostly is that i’ve added 3 chinese words in the title. is this why it’s costing the problem?

  If so, i’m happy to take it out. but if the Permalink is changed now, so many days after the post was created, would it create a 404 error? How could I fix this?

  Oh here are 3 other posts that have Chinese in the title too. No one else complained that they cannot be read. Can you read them?

  I can read all four using Firefox 3.6.13
  I do not experience a “404” on any of them.

  Below is what I see in the title field. Each title has Chinese characters. I don’t know if the copy and paste will display them on the forum or not.

  Best traditional Chinese mochi/ sticky rice dumpling 糯米糍
  Thousand- year old (century) egg 皮蛋- a Chinese delicacy
  Delicious Shanghai Dumplings 上海小籠包 and making demonstration
  Pineapple bun with butter 菠蘿油

  thanks for checking. it looks correct. so i don’t know why the reader couldn’t read it. so it looks like it’s ok to put chinese in the title???

  I really can’t say why your reader could not read it. I also have no answer to whether or not it’s okay to put Chinese in the title. Would you like to contact Staff and get their take on this? http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

  You’re welcome. Would you please be kind enough to return to this thread and share what Staff has to say about the inclusion of the Chinese in the post titles? Then we Volunteers will have an answer for the next member who asks this question.

  Thanks Louise. I use Firefox 3.6.13 too and have no problem viewing the posts either. At this point winkypedia has approached Staff to verigy whther or not thgere are any other implications arising from injecting Chinese characters into a title that’s primarily English and how that may or may not affect URLs.
