Post not showing up

  I’m completely new at this – have set up 4 pages, but most recent post is not showing up on the blog. I can still edit it, and have changed categories, but no matter what categories I assign the post to, it’s still not being showing up. What am I doing wrong?

  First of all, make sure your offset from GMT is set correctly for your timezone.

  EST: -5
  CST: -6
  MST: -7
  PST: -8

  Other world time zone offsets can be found here: http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/

  Next, go to manage > posts and see if your post is listed there. In the “when” column, what is the date and time it shows? If it doesn’t show the current date, but a “future” date, open the post for edit, and at the bottom of the row of blue bars at the right of the edit window, under “timestamp” change the timestamp appropriately and then click save.

  If it is not there, in the filter section at the top of the table, select “status” draft and see if it is there. If it is, then the post was not actually “published”.

  My GMT offset is correct. The post’s timestamp is correct (not future). The status of the post is “Published”. It’s still nowhere to be seen on my blog. What now?

  I just posted the same post again – when I click “view post” I can see it, but it’s not on any of my pages – it disappears when I click any page.

  OK, I found part of the problem – went to Options/Reading and found that the “Posts Page” option hadn’t been selected.

  So the next question – can posts be made to only one page? Can’t I choose which page a post applies to?

  I have noticed if I am logged in I see my blog on the list of categories I have it down for, but if I log out and go back into WordPress.com I don’t see my blog under the same categories. Anyone help me why this is?
