post.php and post-new.php lead to blank page

I had wp installed on my own server space after moving it from free wp platform. I later accidentally deleted the directory it was in when doing some housecleaning on root server. (I neglected to back up my one years worth of posting on my own server, so I lost a year of the posts).

I reinstalled the latest version at http://gardening-blog.blueroseweb.com and imported the xml file. The dashboard seems to work fine, except for new posts. The New post and Edit post links lead to “post-new.php” and “post.php” which display as a fully white, blank page. This happens in both Vivaldi and Brave browsers, haven’t tried any others.

I have looked and looked, but can’t find this same problem anywhere else. My site is live, so I have not enabled WP_DEBUG in wp-config.php file.

I am about ready to re-delete the whole directory and maybe reinstall at a later time.

Any ideas what is affecting just the new post pages?
