Post scheduling not triggering

    Hi there,

I notice there have been a few posts here and there in the past on this but I’m not sure the answers have really fitted my version of this problem.

I have been blogging for a year now and I invariably schedule either one or two posts – never more – for the week ahead. That’s worked fine until the last two or three months when my posts have consistently missed their schedule and I have had to manually publish them.

Now I notice a common answer to this involves someone needing to visit the site to trigger the post and I must admit I have never quite got my head around this. When a post has missed schedule I have visited my own site to see if this does anything but it doesn’t make a difference/

Mostly I know my post has been published exactly on time in the past because it generates a tweet that I can see immediately on my timeline. This has been historically been done without anyone having to have visited at that point.

With the current problem I am having, when the post misses schedule then obviously so does the tweet. This post is my most recent post and when I checked it the other day it had missed its schedule by over an hour. I had had plenty of visitors and once again had to manually publish it.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

    C.

    Hi,

    Anyone on this?

Can someone direct me towards some sort of e-mail support when help cannot be found in these forums?

There is a several week wait period on email support, but if you insist it is support at wordpress dot com. Staff are currently on hiatus until the 10th.

If you are logged in when you visit your site, I don’t believe that triggers the publication of the post.

Ok, fair enough on the logging in bit, but I don’t get why all my posts used to publish immediately on schedule and now every single one misses that same schedule.
