Post showing up on wrong page even though the correct category is selected.

We use posts for both press releases and blogs on our website. And we use categories to assign them to the proper page. I’m trying to create a new press release, and I’ve tried it by both cloning an existing press release and by creating a new post. No matter which way I create the new content, even though the ‘Press Releases’ category is checked, the post keeps showing up on the ‘blog’ page. Occasionally I can get it to show up in both places, ‘Blog’ and ‘Press Releases’, but I can never get it off the blog page. We use Elementor as the page design interface. It’s almost like the new content is being tagged to the blog page somewhere. Can anyone help?

  • Hello –

I don’t see any sites registered to your account. Please share the URL of the site in question so we can take a better look.

Sadly, it sounds like your site is set up on a stand alone WordPress installation. This is different from the managed hosting solution that we provide here at WordPress.com. Because of that, we won’t have any access to your site to provide help and you’ll need to use https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ or ask your hosting provider.
