How do I make a post slider on the sketch theme?

Hello, I did what it said about the featured tag ect. but all it did was not show any thing on the home page, does it have something to do with the portfolio? I never use it because I don’t know what it is.

Have you created any portfolio type content yet? If you haven’t created a portfolio post it won’t show up in the slider.

There is nothing at https://justjavascriptblog.wordpress.com/portfolio/ which means you haven’t yet created a portfolio. So as please create a portfolio for the slider to show up. The more the better :)

So what is a portfolio?
Is the post slider only for the portfolio?
What is the difference between a project and a normal blog post?
Can you have a blog post in your slider or only portfolio projects?Thanks :)

You can place any post or page or portfolio on the slider by adding a featured tag as mentioned in the Featured Content section of the Sketch theme support document: https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/sketch/
