Post slider & test post
-
I swopped over to Pictorico yesterday. I did a test blog, which I saw appear on the front page & I know a friend saw it as they commented. But the post is not there today on the front page. Do I need to check some settings?
Plus, how do I get the post slider to work on my site?
Thanks in advance

Hi Karen,
I did a test blog, which I saw appear on the front page & I know a friend saw it as they commented.
Any post published yesterday which was still published today would appear in the July post archives page, https://parrygraph.com/2017/07. However, that page does not exist. There could be various explanations. Perhaps you changed the post’s status to draft. Could you have sent it to trash?
Plus, how do I get the post slider to work on my site?
A featured content tag must be set at Customize > Featured Content. The same tag must be assigned to each post that you want to appear in the post slider. See the Featured Content in the Post Slider section of the Pictorico theme guide.

Thanks for your help. I think i’m confused about setting the featured content. My front page has automatically set up showing previous blogs without my having assigned them as featured content.
If you want people to be able to scroll to a new set of past blogs then you need to set all blogs as featured content?
Thanks for your patience! -

No. To have a post displayed in the post slider you need to assign the featured content tag to it. This would be the same tag of your choice that you set as the featured content tag at Customize > Featured Content > Tag name. Enter a tag name of your choice there, click the Save & Publish button, and assign that same tag to every post that you want to appear in the slider.
