Post slug customization
-
Hi,
I wanted to make a post with the following url: http://myblog.com/2007/08/hello—world/ so I edited the post slug to hello—world but when I post it always rename it to hello-world without the additional —
Is there a way to fix that? Thanks in advance.

Not with what we have here at wp.com I’m afraid. You could probably do it with regular wordpress but you would need access to the underlying php files to do so.

Thanks for the fast response, do you know which php file I have to edit? I tried google it for a long time but I didn’t really find any information.

If you’ve got a WordPress-powered blog hosted somewhere other than WP.com, you need to be asking at WordPress.org. We’re slightly different over here and can’t access those files.

Here’s the link for support for bloggers who have downloaded software from wordpress.org http://wordpress.org/support

The function is called Texturize that does stuff like this to the text. That’s what you need to turn off. Don’t have a clue but I’m sure it’s come up over there hundreds of times.
