  Today my stats show a total of 49 views but the individual posts listed only add up to 26
  Why is that?

  Multiple views of images on a post or page could be one explanation. Do you have a + sign in front of any of the posts (or pages) which open a drop-down menu?

  I didn’t know that views of an image aren’t counted in the stats.
  There is no+ sign that I can see.

  Yes, views of individual images embedded in a post (or page) or displayed in galleries on a post/page are counted separately.

  There is no+ sign that I can see.

  I don’t know if this will appear on all stats pages. There are three major stats pages on every WordPress.com site. I typically use the oldest one, at https://myperfectsitebaby.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=stats.
