Post Stuck at Top
-
A post I wrote over a week ago entitled “Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day!” seems to be “stuck” at the top of my blog. I checked the visibility settings and it is NOT stuck at the top intentionally. After looking at all of the settings on the post itself, I cannot figure out what is different that would make it appear “stuck” at the top. The formatting is different, too, which is odd. It appears this way both on a computer and on my mobile. Please help! I just want it to be a normal post.

Hi.
I think this is a Featured Post and this is the way in which Twentyfourteen theme -the one you are using- display them.
The home page features your choice of up to six posts that are prominently displayed in a grid or a slider, and controlled by the “featured” post tag. You can change the tag and the layout in Appearance → Customize. Use this “Featured Content” area to make sure your best articles get noticed.
You have more info about that in Twentyfourteen theme page: https://wordpress.com/themes/twentyfourteen/
I hope this helps you.

Thank you!! I guess at some point I set the “featured post” tag at “patterns” and adding that tag made my post stick at the top. I’ve fixed it and changed the featured post tag to “Featured”, which hopefully I will be able to better track in the future. Thank you so much! I visited the Customize Appearance section a few times, but not knowing exactly how to work it all, I was afraid to change much. Now that I know how it works, perhaps I will use it.
