Post Summary

  Under settings, in reading, I have selected the option to have summaries of my posts visible rather than whole posts. This function does not seem to be working. All my powts are being shown in full text. The only soutions I saw were for wordpress.org and involoved changing code.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  That option refers to your RSS feed, not to the blog itself. For that, you need the More tag, which is built in. http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/

  That setting applies only to how your RSS feed goes out.

  Use the read more tag to truncate your posts on your home page:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/
