Post Summary on Blog Homepage

  I’ve been trying to set up my blog’s homepage to just show summaries of each post rather than them in entirety, but haven’t been able to do that. I already went to Settings>Reading and checked the block for summary several posts back, but that hasn’t made a difference. Is it not an option on the theme that I’m currently using, or am I totally missing where I can set that up?

  Hi there,

  Automatic post summaries for all posts on the home page is theme-dependent. The option in Settings > Reading will set the RSS feed to display summaries, not posts on the home page.

  Your theme doesn’t auto-display post summaries, so what you can do is use the more tag. It’s a manual process though, and you’ll have to insert it in every post at a point where you want the summary to end.

  Origin, Fusion, Oxygen and Chateau are a few themes which will automatically display excerpts/summaries on the home page, give them a try to see if you like them.
