Post Title broken? Can’t make any change, doesn’t show as “block”, help?

Hi. I have looked and can’t find a WORKING solution anywhere. I’m not a coder, though I seem to be able to find ways to tweak other stuff, just NOT this.
I am using Windows 11 desktop. I am using one of your given templates that I’m trying to tweak for my taste and use. So far, so good with this ONE exception.
I am just trying to change the format of the text for the Post Title area, where it says “Add Title”. It does NOT even show up as “Block” so I can’t do anything with it.
I tried looking for a way to try changing code, but the code for that field is nowhere to be seen. I can’t change font color, can’t underline, add code, move, resize, bold, italic, nothing at all. It doesn’t register as a “block” that I can see, not even in the outline on the left.
All I want to do is be able to change font color or underline. Maybe try small caps would really be nice if I’m honest.
Please tell me, is it broken or am I missing something?

Hi! You won’t be able to change the format of the post title in individual posts or pages, but you can change the template for those pages using the Full Site Editor. We have a guide here: https://wordpress.com/support/full-site-editing/
If you’re struggling with that, can you share a little more context? Which template are you editing, and what changes are you trying to make to the titles? You can add screenshots and whatnot for more context. Thanks in advance!

So if I want to change the font, color, etc of the Post title, and still have it indexed by the “Archives”, would converting that box accomplish that, or would that make it no longer viewable on the Archives page, and no longer linked to from the home page?
If you could help me remember where to change the post page template, I could try that (I was able to make the Post Title a link, but can’t recall where I did that and where I tried to alter that template, that option didn’t show again, so I don’t know how I did that).

PS. I’m just trying to edit the title of the Posts, either italic or color or different font, and keep them available and able to index by the Archive function. I was originally looking to underline, but keeping the underline as a link function seems a better alternative even if it does only link back to the same page.. agree?
But would still like to italicize or change the font of the Post title and still keep it available for archiving functions so it will display on my Archives page. So if removing “Post Title” and changing that to a paragraph block, or converting it to paragraph block, will accomplish that, I can try it – but wouldn’t that interrupt the Archives function?

I’m not sure I understood this. Can you tell us a little more about what you are trying to set up? You are asking that if you change the post title on the single post template (the one that you see when you are viewing the entire blog post) will that change populate to other templates?
In this case the answer is “no” but instead you will typically need to edit each template (where blog posts appear) to be sure they have the formatting you wish.
