Post titles display incorrectly

  • Hmm, the dimensions listed in the Media Library say the header image is 16,002 × 4,002 — that’s really big, and I can see how it would cause the cropper to time out.

Your theme is asking for an image around 2,000 × 500 pixels. Can you upload a version that’s around that size?

That’s the last time I trust a pixels to inches converter on the Internet. Yikes! I’ll try resizing and let you know how it goes …

It’s faster, but crops the image almost in half horizontally. Gah!

  • Hmm, looks like you’ve got it in the right dimensions now, but as in many responsive themes, the header image will display at different widths that will indeed sometimes cut off that text.

Have you thought about using just the background, then creating a PNG file of your site name / description and uploading it as a logo? This theme does support one. It’ll be centered over the background image. Try it in your customizer — you can see what it looks like without saving. I’d recommend going that route.

The other option is to go ahead and spring for Premium, which would give you control over your CSS — and we could then try to help you position the header image so the text doesn’t cut off at different resolutions.

I’ll try that tomorrow and if it doesn’t work, I’ll consider the premium route. I’m thinking about making a number of changes anyway, so about what would upgrading cost?

  • Premium is $99/year including your domain, and it comes with several cool features including CSS. I think you get a discount your first year, too, because you already have the domain upgrade. More info here:

I added the png file and, after some tweaking, it looks fine, although I think I’ve decided to go with the Premium Plan. Thank you for your help. You’ve been very patient and I appreciate it.

  • No problem, @publikworks . If you need more help with the CSS and what not, let us know. Cheers!
