Post vs an Article

  Hello, What is the difference between a Post and an Article? Can I convert an article to a Post? I would prefer to see my posts and the articles in the same section. Thank You

  Hi @sahni3000 – I looked closer at the theme you are using. That theme appears to have specific functionality which allows you to create and present “Articles”. This theme has been retired for many years, which means we no longer provide updates for support issues related to it.

  To answer your question: there is not a way to convert an article to a post. The only way you can do this is by manually coping the text from the article and pasting it into a new post, then publishing the post once it is ready.

  My best recommendation here is to do two things:

  1. Manually copy the article text and past it into a new post.

  2. Publish the new post.

  3. Review our free themes and switch your site’s theme to a newer theme which will work much better for presenting posts. https://wordpress.com/themes/free

  When you switch themes you do not lose anything you have written. It may move around a little, but it’s still there.
