Post went POOF!
-
Some of my previous blog post seem to be missing.
One in particular is “My Weighty Story: My First Race”. This one is super important to me, and I was gong to print it out to put in my scrapbook, however, it is not in my post list, I can’t get to it by scrolling through my blog, and when I did a google search for it, it comes up, but when I click on the link it says.. “Oops! That page can’t be found. It looks like nothing was found at this location. Maybe try one of the links below or a search?”
HELP! I want my posts back!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The post was indexed by Google and the cached copy is here and if worse comes to worse you can copy and paste the text into a new post My Weighty Story: My First Race site:kimberlymringer.wordpress.com
If the post was created on the dashboard of your own blog at Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New then you ought to be able to recover a lost post or page from revisions if needs be.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-revisions/
See also if applicable > restoring from trash http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/#restoring-from-trash(If you are referring to a Page then see here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-revisions/)
But if the post was created here http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ there is no means of recovery as the auto-save is not functioning there.
Always create your posts on the dashboard of your own blog at
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New
The auto-save works there and the post will be Standard post format unless you change it.Do not create posts here > http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ where the auto-save is not working and where you are creating an Aside post format.
Use an offline blog editor so you have backups on your own computer http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/

Using the Google link only brought up a “page not found”.
I can’t bring up the original post in the dashboard because it is not showing up.
The post was posted on October 5, 2013 and it like it went POOF. I would have created that post through the dashboard. It was a long post with pictures, which pictures are still in my media, and show links to where the post should be, however the post is not there.

When using a Google link like the one I posted above you need to click it, then click again on the “cached” dropdown arrow on the post being depicted there.
I don’t know how this happened. I’m glad you now know how to recover the post. Happy blogging!
