Post width

    Hello,

    I’d like to ask something about this theme ‘Canard’ before i start using it.

    Quick Specs (all measurements in pixels)
    1. The main column width for posts is 540.
    2. The main column width for pages is 870.
    3. A widget is 270 wide.
    4. Featured Images are 1920 wide by 768 high.

    I want to use posts instead of pages for all my articles. And the width for post is only 540 though.

    Example of this post:
    https://canarddemo.wordpress.com/2015/03/14/the-best-prototyping-apps/

    Can i remove with CSS Custom Design for the date and hashtags at the left side so the content will fill up the remaining space (hence the increase in width for posts) ?

    Or instead of removing them, putting them at the most bottom of every post? Same goes for the sharing, likes button. Cause at the moment its at the left aswell

    I’m afraid not, technically you can but the changes will affect overall site in desktop and mobile layout.

    You can do that if you download the theme and install it on your self hosted wordpress.

    Thanks for your reply

    But are there any other options? Instead of removing but adjusting the width?

    If not, i guess its fine

    Thanks! :)

    One more thing.

    Why is my footer only for my homepage different from all my other pages?

    For this site: http://yesinspire.com/

    The ‘Blog at WordPress | Canape Theme’ style is different now. It used to be in the center. I want it to be reverted back if possible (to be the same as my other pages)

    The theme is already design to follow design best practice. The optimal line length for your body text is considered to be 50-60 characters per line, including spaces (“Typographie”, E. Ruder) .

    So if you remove the date and hashtag in exchange for cramper space, I’d not recommend :)

    For the footer to be reverted back, can you try this:
    Go to customize > theme options > Footer
    uncheck ‘show site title and description in the footer’

    Hello elte,

    I did as you said

    For the footer to be reverted back, can you try this:
    Go to customize > theme options > Footer
    uncheck ‘show site title and description in the footer’

    but no changes. Footer still stayed that way only for homepage.

    The closest I could get is

    #infinite-footer .blog-credits {
    text-align: left;
    }

    if you want to hide the ‘YES Inspire | Magazines’ on the bottom left, add this

    #infinite-footer .blog-info {
    display:none;
    }

    Thanks for your help

    I don’t get how its suppose to be site-info and it turned into infinite-footer..

    But anyway thanks again

    You’re welcome :)

    @inspirebn, CSS is theme specific, and in Canape, the footer information show on the left is in a different div with different CSS selectors from the normal site footer credits partially so that it can be styled differently than the normal footer credits.

    @thesacredpath

    As you can see for my site yesinspire.com

    The homepage footer style is different from other pages from the similar site. Not comparing canard theme and yesinspire’s canape theme.

    Any idea why??

    Your main page is showing the infinite scroll footer. Go to Settings > Reading and scroll down to “To infinity and beyond” and deselect it and then save and the footer will change to the style you see on other pages.
