Postal Code Not Working
-
I am trying to purchase a .blog domain and you are not accepting the postal code i am supporting no matter what…
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
Hi there,
What is the domain you are trying to register, and for what country is the postal code?
-
The domain I’m trying to register is .blog and i used Beirut as the city but it’s not accepting any postal code I put.
-
If you’re using an 8-digit postal code you need to leave a space in the middle:
If that’s what you’ve done, please try without the space.
A lot of different providers have been registering .blog domains the past two days, so it’s also possible the domain you’re trying to register has already been taken, but our system doesn’t show it yet. If you can let me know the specific domain I can check on that for you.

Hello :) thank you for the help. I was using a 4 digit postal code because they are that way here in Lebanon. As for the domain I am trying to buy, it is waelkanaan.blog and since we are talking about it, do you have any idea if it has the features of the personal option or we just get the domain name? Thanks a lot
-
It doesn’t look like that domain is registered yet, so you should be able to buy it here.
According to that link I provided Lebanon uses both 4 and 8-digit codes, so it could be our registrar only recognises the one format. Can you try with a different code for your city, for a different area/suburb perhaps?
If you add the domain under My Site ->Domains you will only get the domain. If you’d prefer a plan, go to My Site ->Plans first and add a plan, then you can register the domain for free afterwards. Given how close .blog domains are to the Personal plan in cost it makes sense to buy the plan instead :)

It is still not working. Plus, I tried to go buy the personal plan, I didn’t find Lebanon listen in the countries. Apparently, I can’t subscribe to any plan… thanks anyway.
-
Right. It seems this might then be a problem on our end. I’ve reported this matter so it can be fixed. I’ll let you know as soon as I hear something.
Meanwhile, another option I can try is to send you a direct payment link so you can add the Personal Plan. That might work, as it does not use the WordPress.com checkout form. Let me know if you want to try this.
-
Hello :)
Yes I would like that very much. Please send me the link to buy the personal plan.
Thanks a lot -
I’ve sent an email to the address on file for your account. Please let me know if this also doesn’t work.
-
Hello,
Yes I have received the link and I used it to pay for the personal plan. It was charged and I received an email that it was successful, but when I log to my wordpress account, my plan still displays as free and I have to pay for the domain I want to add… Should I wait further until it shows or there is a problem with it?
I really appreciate the help you gave, thank you so much.
-
I needed to add the plan to your account manually, which I’ve just done, so if you now view the Plans page on your site it should show you are on the Personal Plan.
If you now go to My Site ->Domains you should be able to register a .blog domain, or any other domain we offer, using the free domain in your plan. Please let me know if it still gives you any problems regarding the postal code.

Hello,
Yes, all is working fine now. Got the domain and the postal code worked. Just waiting for the domain to be active.
Thank you for the all the help :)
-
It looks like everything is working now. Thanks for your patience as we sorted this out and for reporting the issue on the Payments screen.
