I posted an article on a WordPress website, but for some reason it ended up in the trash. How do I place it in the main title area? Here is the problem: https://thepiratevoice.com/2016/11/30/__trashed-4/

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

You can go to your trash and restore it. Here are the instructions:

Let me know if you need more help.

fstat, the problem is not that easy. See, the problem is that WordPress thinks it is deleted, but it is considered an article still. It does not show up on the website nor the title. It’s not that I do not know how to restore items from the trash, it’s just that this item claims it is deleted, but it does not show up in the trash. It is a very odd situation.

How many Admins and Editors do you have on the site?

  • Unknown's avatar

There are two admins and overall four editors on the site, including me and the two admins, with one more person. Would that be the problem? I am thinking that the problem originates from a certain article limit, but I cannot be so sure. Thank you for your input.

I’m thinking that this was probably the unintended result of an official user doing whatever. Staff have records of who did what under which username and login information and when they did it. If you want to you can tag thread with modlook in the sidebar for a Staff follow-up. You can also subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it. Note that there is a backlog and be patient while waiting.

All right, I’ve tagged it. I hope WordPress can solve whatever is going on. Again, thank you for your help.

  • Hi there,

That post is not deleted. If it was you wouldn’t be able to view it on your site at all. It just says “trashed” in the post slug.

This happens if an untitled post is deleted, and then restored from trash. The post slug is based on the post title, so if you delete an untitled post or post draft, the “trashed” slug is generated automatically when you restore the post. Based on the revision history, this post was only given a title after it was restored from trash, 2 weeks ago.

(By the way, the logs show that your username originally deleted that post about 3 weeks ago.)

To fix the URL, edit the post, click on Other Options, and edit the post slug to match the post title again. Update, and you’ll be good to go.

Thanks! However, is there a way I can place the article on the home page of the website so it can show up there?

Never mind. I got it. Thank you all for your help. Have a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day!

  • Glad I could help :)
