Posted By Removal?

  I’m new at using wordpress but seem to be getting on alright with it, however, i got asked to remove the ‘posted by’ section on the website as it was right above the post title and confused some of our customers what the article was about or who it was for.

  We are using the Ocean Mist theme if this is required to help solve this problem.

  We just want to ‘posted by’ “hidden” from view on the site, not on the backend.

  If this makes any sense ….

  No changes you try out aside from those such as Custom Background, Custom Header and Theme Options which are stated on the theme description pages for each theme will be visible to visitors unless you purchase an annually renewable custom design upgrade and do the required CSS editing

  What if you changed the display name to one that is not so long?

  Not maybe the best but that is free on your theme.

  There ought not be an author byline displaying unless there are two or more authors who have both published posts on the blog.

  Good point @TT – forgot about that – was a sore point with me when they changed things a while back to the require two authors

  I completely agree. In fact, I think the display of author byline should be optional.

  I invited other contributors to each make one single post, and now my ‘byline’ displays automatically (and stupidly) on all posts per blog.

  Very unprofessional IMO!

  Yes, you nailed it. There is no free workaround we can use to remove author bylines when there are two or more authors who have both published.

  P.S. I don’t allow Admin access to my blogs anyone except TSP. My health is such that I need a Co-Admin who can manage my blogs if and when required on very short notice or based solely on my absence. So far that hasn’t been required and my fingers are crossed that it never will be.

  I was going to do the second account thing but have not quite got around to it – seems to me a simple check box would be a good feature
