Hi, I don’t know how to efficiently describe this issue, but I’ll try. I’ve had my same blog for over 5 years and never had this issue. The way my blog is set up is like a website with several pages. One of my pages at the top is ACCF Gallery. That page is a parent page for several sub pages. Each sub page has images that link to a correlating blog post. I went in to add images for my new blog posts to those sub pages and discovered this problem I have never encountered. When I add a new image and then add the link for the blog post to that image, the links for all the images around the new image change to the new link that I just added. So now instead of each image having their own individual link to their corresponding blog post, all of the new images I have added now all have the same link. Every time I go in to correct this all of the images adopt the new link. It’s infuriating. Here is a link to one of the pages I am talking about http://accustomfigures.com/accf-gallery/masters-of-the-universe/.

On this page for the link I’ve provided, the affected images are the first 12. They are the new ones I added tonight. I gave each 12 their own link before I updated the page, but once I clicked Update all 12 images took on the link for the first image.

I’ve tried everything I can think of to fix this, and I haven’t done anything different from what I usually do when I update my blog like I tried to tonight.

I hope I’ve explained this somewhat coherently. If more info is needed please let me know. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    AC

  • Hi @acfitness, sorry we missed this earlier! For future reference, feel free to use the “modlook” tag if you need staff help in the forums.

Also, since you have upgrades, you should be able to contact us here:
    https://wordpress.com/help/contact

It might be easier to solve this in chat since I’m not 100% clear on the trouble you’re having.

That said, I’ll give this a go:

Right now I see you’ve got several images linked to a single post. Did you want each image to link to an individual post instead? If so I may be able to help you find a better way to do that.

You could also go into the HTML mode, remove the multi-image links there, then save the page so you can add each link individually. We can help with that too if you need it.

Hi Supernovia, thanks for the reply. I’m not so great with HTML, but I’ve been performing the same operations on my blog for over 5 years and have never had a problem until now, just a few days ago. The most frustrating part is that I haven’t changed anything on my end, but the WP interface keeps changing leading me to believe that the problem isn’t on my end.

The way you described your understanding of the problem is basically correct. I agree chat would probably be the best way to do this. How do we do the chat?

    Thanks!

  • Try getting in touch here, @acfitness: https://wordpress.com/help/contact

And I do think this may be a case where something that was broken just needs to be fixed once.

Or, if you wanted to make a page that shows the featured image for each post and links to the article, you can do that, too.
