Posterous account problem

I want to import my Posterous account but it doesn’t work. I’ve downloaded it normally, but I cannot open it. So I can’t sent the wordpress file, but just the whole space. And that doesn’t work! How do I fix this?

You cannot upload a zip file. Per the guide at http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/import-from-posterous/ you’ll need to upload the wordpress_export_1.xml file, not the one you tried to import. Posterous sends you a .zip file which you need to unarchive to retrieve the files inside.
I’m not a Windows user myself, but I believe the ability to open .zip files should be built-in to the operating system. It is on Macs at least.
Either way, we can really only help with the WordPress.com end of the import process.
