  the import went fine, but the widgets on the sidebar disappeared.

  it actually pushes all the content below into the footer. It seems like there is one post that is causing this.

  one post basically pushed everything in the sidebar below the footer. Easy to fix myself by moving all posts to trash, then bringing them back a few at a time to find the corrupted post.

  Fixed!

  Glad to hear that you were able to find the post which was causing the problem! You also could have set them to draft one at a time, which is similar to what we do!
