Posterous import issues
-
Trying to import my Posterous blog to WordPress. Followed the guide. It’s been over 24hrs and nothing has imported yet. Same message saying it’s still working. Any tips on what to do next?
Thanks,
Eric

Hi,
Is there any update on this?
It’s been 48 hours since I began the process and nothing has been imported.
Thanks,
Eric -
I’m sorry but there has been no update and there are many threads awaiting Staff attention.

Hi,
Some of the posts were imported but not all. About 2000 of 5000 came across.
I’m retrying the import.
Thanks,

Hi,
It’s been over 24hrs. No change in the post count and the importer still seems to be going. Any suggestions?

I intend to direct that to the WordPress blog when the import is complete.
Thanks,

Ah, that may be the problem. I have reset your importer.
Would you please try with their domain mapping temporarily disabled?

I’ll give it a shot. Does this mean my site is effectively going to be down? How long will this take?
Thanks,

Still not working.
Just curious: If I pay for the guided transfer, can I have a Happiness Engineer handle taking me from Posterous to a self-hosted WordPress?
Thanks,
Eric -
No, we can only help with WordPress.com to self-hosted WordPress.org.
If you don’t mind trying one more thing, try opening a new WordPress.com blog by visiting https://signup.wordpress.com/signup/ while logged in, then import to the new blog.
If that works, we can easily transfer from blog to blog.

Hi,
I tried this. I created:
https://bakadesuyo1.wordpress.comBut now it’s saying the Posterous importer is not available?
Thanks,
Eric -
Hi,
I managed to export the blog from Posterous myself and have the files locally. How do I import them into my WordPress blog?
Also, can you please delete my previous partial import?
Thanks,
Eric
