Posterous import not accepted

Not a valid xml file from posterous?
I have downloaded the backup from Posterous, but when I upload the xml file that was in the zip, WordPress says that the file is not an xml file…any advice?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thank you. I indeed know it is an xml file. Here’s the start of it:
<?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″?>
-<rss xmlns:wp=”http://wordpress.org/export/1.0/” xmlns:dc=”http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/” xmlns:wfw=”http://wellformedweb.org/CommentAPI/” xmlns:content=”http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/content/” xmlns:excerpt=”http://wordpress.org/export/1.0/excerpt/” version=”2.0″> -
I will flag this for staff attention. I think there are three possibilities:
- There is some error in the XML; maybe posterous didn’t escape a character like > or <
- The import file is too long – I have seen other threads where people with many hundreds of posts have had to split the file manually or pass it to staff on web storage (dropbox, google drive, etc).
There is some bug in the WordPress import

Thanks again. I was already afraid something could be wrong with the XML. Any suggestion how I can get my xml to the staff, so they can check the file or maybe even import it for me? I can only find this nice community for support but could find any direct link to the staff.

Ah, there indeed soms the be something wrong on the side of Posterous, if I read the comment of the Posterous plugin author:

Sorry I keep posting follow-ups, but I cannot edit previous comments.
I checked the XML against an XML validator and it finds the XML to be okay and error-free. -
